I found this concrete leprechaun in a Nashville antique store one summer. The owner told me he discovered the statue many years ago in a lady’s garden while visiting a friend outside of Berlin, Germany. That evening I brought it into the house and turned off all the lights except a flashlight pointed upward from his feet. I wanted to contemplate exactly what it was I purchased while sipping on a glass filled with cognac. It was shortly thereafter that “The Miracle at Stone Head” occurred. I’m 90% sure I saw a very rapid forearm flexure of 45 degrees or so and subsequently dubbed this concrete monstrosity, Leo McCaffrey, Patron Saint of Mischief. I later returned to the antique shop to let the owner know he never should've sold the magical man in green, but of course, he just laughed. So anything unusual or just downright wrong that happens in The House at Stone Head can, in all

likelihood, be attributed to one concrete man of mischief, the seemingly honorable, Mr. Leo McCaffrey.
