backwaters of Monroe Reservoir’s Wildlife Refuge. Traveling in a northern direction finds the ever-charming Artist Colony of the Midwest, Nashville. The towns many unique shops and adjacent state park have lured tourists for years. East of  Stone Head lies Pike’s Peak and the conveniences of its quaint neighborhood hangout, Crouch’s Market. A southern directed road trip leads the more adventurous to Brownstown’s Skyline Drive where the Knobstone Escarpment’s Tampico Overlook offers one of the states most spectacular county-side views. On the way, lowland farm fields in early spring annually lure thousands of migrating Sandhill cranes to forage. In all directions can be found many interesting art studios offering unique purchases for loved ones back home.
