As owner and manager of The House at Stone Head I welcome you to my website and hope we have a chance to meet someday. I want to give you a little background regarding myself as well as the tourist home that is available for your enjoyment. I fulfilled a near lifelong dream to someday live amongst the hills and hollers of beautiful Brown County, Indiana. I was fortunate to be able to purchase land here in 1992. After many wonderful camping experiences, I eventually built a log home in 1999. Adjoining properties were later acquired to make up the present 140 acres. On the many trips down from Indianapolis I always admired the historical, odd looking figurehead at Stone Head. I was intrigued by the architecture of the old farmhouse and where it resided. This house, with its 4 acre deeded property was bought in 2002 with an adjoining 23 acres. I wasn’t sure what to do with the newly acquired property until hearing about tourist homes (short-term vacation rentals of 30 days or less) and local zoning requirements necessary to have one.
